RAKU

Raku is a series of handcrafted ceramic objects created using traditional firing techniques and the element of chance. The pottery is removed from the kiln while glowing hot and placed in heat-resistant containers with organic materials such as leaves, straw, and sawdust. This triggers a chemical reaction known as post-reduction, resulting in incomparable effects within the glaze. These effects can only be controlled to a certain extent, making every object created through Raku firing a one-of-a-kind piece with a unique surface character.
